Healing Journey

Healing Journey

Right as I was finishing my graduate education, I got really sick. I ended up in a doctor’s office in Manhattan, with anxiety and having lost a lot of weight. In the months following, I was constantly dizzy, continued to lose more weight and muscle mass, had hair loss, and had continuous brain fog. While I studied data science, I had trouble at times doing even simple math and remember having difficulty following conversations. I wasn’t sure that I would be able to work a normal job again.

I went to multiple doctors and natural practitioners. The doctor tested my thyroid and my TSH levels were on the lower end of normal, but not out of the normal range. I changed my diet drastically, but I continued to lose weight.

Finally, a natural practitioner had me take a saliva test and found that I was full of parasites, likely from my travels, including living nearly one year abroad. This was a huge breakthrough for me. She prescribed various herbal tinctures, a lot of colloidal silver, and a lot of Himalayan sea salt. This did the trick! I started gaining weight and muscle mass back. It was amazing.

In the midst of all of these physical difficulties, I had the realization that there may be a spiritual element as well. I finally went in to a church to do what is called inner healing work. They partner with God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit to bring healing to various areas of your life, including generational issues. I saw enormous progress after this point.

I also began listening to Joyce Meyer regularly and tried to follow her very practical advice on behaviors and mindsets to change to align better with God’s model for life, which ultimately brings flourishing: https://joycemeyer.org/

I am still on the journey, but I experienced enormous freedom, and I experienced how the spiritual element was key. I give Jesus Christ all the glory for bringing me to the point of healing.  It begins with salvation in Him – essentially choosing to follow Him and His path. He loves you.
